Motivation

The aim of the Seventh International Conference "Human Language Technologies - the Baltic Perspective" is to provide a forum for the sharing of new ideas and recent advances in human language processing and to promote cooperation between the research communities of computer science and linguistics from the Baltic states and the rest of the world. 

The conference aims to bring together scientists, developers, providers and users to discuss state-of-the-art of HLT in the Baltic states, to exchange information and to discuss problems, to find new synergies and to promote initiatives for international cooperation.

The event is also important for gathering and consolidating ideas related to cooperation in the EU Research and Innovation programme "Horizon 2020" and in the new period of the EU structural funds (2014-2020).

The open access conference proceedings is published by IOS Press in the series of Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications,  indexed by SCOPUS and Web of Science.
